Privacy policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

At J&M (J&M Electronics and J&M Informàtica i Serveis) we only use the data we need to serve you. This policy explains what data we process when you visit this online shop, when you write to us on WhatsApp or by email and when you buy from us; what we use it for, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how you can exercise your rights. It is governed by Andorra's Llei 29/2021, qualificada de protecció de dades personals. Repairs by our technical service have their own information on the service form.

Who is responsible

  • Controller: J&M Electronics and J&M Informàtica i Serveis, NRT C-801051-H.
  • Address: Illa Carlemany shopping centre, avinguda Carlemany 68-70-72, ground floor (unit B7) and level -1 (unit S4), AD700 Escaldes-Engordany, Principality of Andorra.
  • Privacy email: jminformatica@andorra.ad
  • WhatsApp: +376 322 501

The data we process

  • Contact details: your name, your phone or WhatsApp number, your email address and, if you ask for delivery, the delivery address.
  • Your purchases: what you ask for or buy, the price, the payment method and its receipt, the invoice, the delivery and any returns or warranty claims.
  • Your messages: what you write or send us on WhatsApp or by email (texts, photos, voice notes and documents).
  • Browsing data: your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit and cookies (see below).

We do not store card numbers: card payments are made on the shop's terminal and handled by the bank. We do not need health data, opinions or any other specially protected data; please do not send it to us.

To place an order we need your name, a way to contact you and, for deliveries, the address: without this data we cannot prepare or ship it. You confirm that the data you give us is true and up to date. If you give us someone else's data (for example, to send them a gift), you must have informed them first.

What we use it for

  • Answering your questions and handling your orders: prices, availability, reservations, delivery, payment, invoice, returns and warranty. Legal basis: the contract, or the steps you ask us to take before it.
  • Complying with the law: accounting, tax, consumer and warranty rules. Legal basis: legal obligation.
  • Protecting the shop and our customers: preventing fraud and abuse, keeping our website and systems secure and keeping proof of what was agreed, to deal with or defend a claim. Legal basis: our legitimate interest.
  • Improving our service: learning which products people are interested in and how the website is used, with aggregated data whenever possible. Legal basis: our legitimate interest; website statistics only if you accept those cookies.
  • Sending you offers and news: only if you ask for them or agree to them. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with a message.

We do not sell your data or give it to anyone for advertising.

WhatsApp and the automated assistant

When you write to us on WhatsApp, you are using Meta's service: what Meta does with your account data is explained in its own privacy policy, which you accepted when you started using WhatsApp.

So that we can answer sooner, your messages are first read by an automated assistant that runs on artificial intelligence from an external provider, which processes them on our behalf and only to prepare the reply. The assistant gives information (prices, availability, opening hours) but takes no automated decisions about you: orders, reservations and any exceptions are always confirmed by a member of our staff. You can ask to speak to a person at any time. If anything the assistant says differs from what the shop confirms to you, what the shop confirms prevails.

Who we share it with

Only with those who help us serve you, and only what they need:

  • Shopify: the platform this online shop runs on.
  • Meta (WhatsApp): for messages.
  • Artificial intelligence providers: for the automated assistant.
  • Carriers: to deliver your order (name, address and phone number).
  • Banks and the post office: for payments and refunds.
  • Manufacturers and official repair services: to process a warranty claim.
  • Advisers and public authorities: our accountants or lawyers, and the authorities when the law requires it or to defend ourselves against a claim.

Providers who process data on our behalf may only use it to provide their service to us.

Data outside Andorra

Some of these providers process data outside Andorra, for example in the European Union, Canada or the United States. We only do so with countries that offer adequate protection (those in the European Union, those covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission and those that apply Council of Europe Convention 108+), with the safeguards provided for by law, such as standard data protection clauses, or when it is necessary to provide the service you ask for, such as replying to you on WhatsApp or shipping your order.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a purchase: while they are useful to serve you and for no more than two years after your last message.
  • Purchases, invoices and warranties: for as long as the law requires (six years for accounting and tax records) and, in any case, while a claim about the purchase or its warranty can still be made.
  • Offers: until you withdraw your consent.

After that, we delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

At any time you can ask us for:

  • Access: to know what data about you we hold and receive a copy.
  • Rectification: to correct any that is wrong.
  • Erasure: to delete what is no longer needed.
  • Objection: to stop using it for a given purpose, in particular to send you offers.
  • Restriction: to keep it without using it while a question or a claim is resolved.
  • Portability: to receive the data you gave us in a commonly used format, or have us send it to another company.
  • Withdrawal of consent: where consent is the basis for processing, without affecting what was done before.

Write to us at jminformatica@andorra.ad or by post to the address above, saying which right you wish to exercise. It is free of charge. We will reply within one month at the latest; if the request is complex, this period may be extended by two further months, and we will tell you so within the first month. If we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we will ask you to prove it, so that nobody can obtain your data by pretending to be you. We will have to keep some data even if you ask us to delete it, where the law requires us to or where we need it to deal with or defend a claim.

If you feel we have not handled your request properly, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Agència Andorrana de Protecció de Dades (www.apda.ad) or, if you live in another country, to the data protection authority of your country.

Minors

The shop is not aimed at children under 16. If you are under 16, please ask your parent or guardian to write to us or place the order. If we find that we have received data from a child under 16 without that permission, we will delete it.

Security

We protect your data with reasonable technical and organisational measures: only the people who need it for their work can access it, using passwords and encrypted connections. No system is infallible; if a security incident affected you, we would inform you as the law requires.

For your own security, please do not send us card numbers, passwords or health data on WhatsApp or by email, and protect access to your phone and your WhatsApp account.

Cookies

This website uses its own cookies and Shopify's, the platform the shop runs on:

  • Necessary: they make the website work (for example, to remember your language or for security). They are always on.
  • Statistics: they tell us how many visits there are and which pages are viewed. They are only switched on if you accept them.

We do not use advertising cookies. The first time you visit, the website asks which cookies you accept. You can change your choice at any time from "Cookies" at the bottom of the website. Which cookies Shopify sets and how long they last: www.shopify.com/legal/cookies.

Other websites

If you follow a link to another website, such as a manufacturer's or a social network, that website has its own privacy rules, for which we are not responsible.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the law or the way we work changes. The current version is always the one on this page, with its date at the top. If the change is significant, we will announce it on the website.
